Hello and greetings,
I came across your nice website and discovered a connection. Johann Friedrich Abraham is my third great grandfather. Thought I'd stop and say Hi!

Just opened this up and started to view it, I know my cousin has a lot of family history, it's funny how the strong the family resemblance is in some of the old photo's I've seen over the years, one I believe was on the cover of National Geographic if remember correctly..

My connection to the Boyntons is thru my 4th great grandmother, Mary Boynton b 1773 in Buxton, ME, to a John Boynton (b 1749 in Haverhill, Mass). She married Richard Kimball (1775-1853) of Belmont, ME. If I use the info in the History of the Boynton Family (William & John), it appears that my descendancy is from John, William's brother. However, I am unable to find anything further solidifying my Mary being the one shown in the Boynton Family History for John Boynton #100. Because your site concentrates on William and his descendants, do you (or anyone) have any suggestions?

This is awesome! My mouth dropped when I stumbled upon this. I'm in the midst of researching the Byington branch of my tree, a branch that up until about 2 months I knew next to nothing about. Thank you for doing this!!!!!

Hi Jeff
This site is amazing. It is so organized. Thank you for your time and dedication. I am a descendant of Randall Byington's son Thomas Dorr b 1844.
I have been looking for Mary Scott's parents and I see you have them!!! May I ask your source and how you found her middle name?
My records show Hannah Bronson m. David Foote 1730-1779. Any light on that? Thank you so much.

Hello, I was looking at your Byington Family Genealogy, and trying to trace my family tree to current. I got stuck on Jared b. 1758, d.1827. I have information on his wife/children, which are missing on your site. The last person with name of Byington in my family line was born in 1837 and died in 1913 in WI. She was my 2x great grandmother my father and grandparents are buried with her.

You have a great website! I stumbled onto the site by doing a Google search for Daniel Byington in Wolcott, CT.
Daniel (III) and Susannah Norton Byington are my 4g grandparents. I descend from them through their son Hiram Norton Byington (1800-1888) who married Sarah Holkins of Colebrook, NH.
Hiram and Sarah moved to Ashtabula County, OH, in the late 1820s and later moved in the late 1830s to Scott and Hancock counties, IL. In 1846 they left Illinois, settled temporarily in Iowa, and then trekked 1,000 miles overland to Utah in 1848.
Their son Joseph Henry Byington (1829-1909) married a second wife Hannah Molland, and I descend through their daughter Hannah Maria Byington (1866-1931) who married William Burrup in 1883.
William and Maria were early settlers of the ranching and farming area located near Downey, Idaho, in the 1870s (Downey is located about 35 miles south of Pocatello). William and Maria are buried in the Grant Cemetery, located about 7 miles southeast of Downey and just up the road from their homestead.
William and Maria's oldest child, William Edward "Ed" Burrup (1885-1963), married Elizabeth "Bessie" Fox (1885-1982)in 1907; they are my grandparents.
Does anyone know the precise--or approximate--locations of the ancestral Byington graves in Wolcott, Connecticut, and Rowley, Massachusetts?

Thanks for the feedback regarding the website. Great information about your Byington lineage - I make sure it's aligned with my data. I searched several cemeteries in the Rowley and surrounding areas looking but found it difficult due to the deterioration of headstones. I suspect the first Boyntons are buried in the Early Settlers cemetery in Rowley - that would locate them with their minister, Ezekiel Rogers. I plan to travel to the Wolcott area this summer as well as Camden, NY where Daniel III and wife Elizabeth lived. jeffB
